The time has come to say good to Spain... We're now in Madrid, and preparing for our flight tomorrow to Copenhagen. |

A pleasant, if still chillly day greeted us when we awoke this
morning in Soria.
Our hotel, the Leonor Miron, looks like it was probably a monastery or a manor house in a previous life, and this morning, offered us a lovely welcoming morning view over the river valley below; right: view from our hotel room in Soria It was an easy drive from Soria to our airport hotel - from our experience, the Spanish system of motorways is excellent, and we were able to cruise along at 120kph (legally), although we were overtaken regularly by other faster cars. We hear southern Spain is suffering its worst drought for many years, but there's no evidence of it in the North. Lush, green, fertile -- all those adjectives come to mind. |

The fertile fields between Soria and Madrid We scheduled no sightseeing today, since we spent several days in Madrid last year- instead, we simply did practical stuff..... repacking our bags to meeting airlines' stringent weight restrictions, returning our rental car, loading up my iPad with more eBooks We'll take up our story in another chapter...(click here) |
